PIERRESVIVES

Pierresvives est la Cité des savoirs et du Sport pour tous de Montpellier, à la jonction de La Paillade, Malbosc et Alco. Le bâtiment, inspiré par François Rabelais et conçu par l’architecte Zaha Hadid, abrite les Archives départementales de l'Hérault, la Médiathèque départementale et Hérault Sport : 60 km d'archives, près de 300 000 ouvrages (livres, CD, DVD…), un amphithéâtre, des salles d'exposition… Autour du bâtiment, le Département a aménagé un nouveau quartier comprenant des logements, des commerces, des services, des bureaux, des activités et équipements.

The futuristic structure from the star architect Zaha Hadid. Pierresvives building is a futuristic structure which will hold library, archives and sport office from the department of Herault. Located in an eco-area which will be ready by year’s end, this great work from the architect Zaha Hadid – the only woman in the world who won the Pritzker prize – contributes to make Montpellier be an international spot for contemporary architecture signed by the greatest architects of our time.

Pierresvives ist das futuristische Wissens- und Sportzentrum von Montpellier im Dreieck der Stadtviertel La Paillade, Malbosc und Alco. Das von François Rabelais inspirierte und von Architektin Zaha Hadid entworfene Gebäude beherbergt das Archiv und die Mediathek des Departements Hérault sowie Hérault Sport: 60 km Archive, knapp 300.000 Medien (Bücher, CDs, DVDs, …), ein Amphitheater, Ausstellungsräume, … Rund um das Gebäude hat das Departement ein neues Stadtviertel mit Wohnungen, Geschäften, Dienstleistungen, Büros, Freizeitaktivitäten und Infrastrukturen geschaffen.
