Port-abri – Bestrée

Situé dans la commune de Plogoff, l’extrémité du Cap Sizun, il est le port le plus occidental de la localité. Placé immédiatement au sud du grand site national de la Pointe du Raz, il est ouvert sur la baie d’Audierne. Le plan d'eau est protégé par deux digues reliant des enrochements naturels. Ce port abritait il y a de nombreuses années une flottille de pêche côtière professionnelle constituée de canots en bois naviguant à la voile et à l’aviron. Bestrée était le port utilisé par les phares et balises pour le ravitaillement des phares en mer et la relève des gardiens.. Il était possible de se ravitailler en eau douce, une source jaillissant de la falaise, l'eau était acheminée au port au moyen d’un tuyau. Il existait également une liaison Ile de sein-Bestrée pendant la belle saison.

Situated in the commune of Plogoff, at the end of Cape Sizun, it is the westernmost port of the locality. Located immediately south of the great national site of the Pointe du Raz, it is open to the Bay of Audierne. The water is protected by two dykes connecting natural rockfill. Many years ago, this port was home to a professional inshore fishing fleet consisting of wooden canoes sailing and rowing. Bestrée was the harbour used by lighthouses and beacons for the supply of lighthouses at sea and the relief of the keepers . It was possible to refuel in fresh water, a spring gushing from the cliff, water was brought to the port by means of a pipe. There was also a link between Ile de sein-Bestrée during the summer season.
