Issue de l’extraction de sable dans les années 1960, cette carrière est en partie ouverte au public sur les parcelles communales. Un sentier pédagogique permet de découvrir des milieux naturels originaux à proximité de l’agglomération castelle : étang, roselière, prairie humide, mares, boisement inondé, peuplés de différentes espèces d’orchidées (Orchis tacheté), libellules, amphibiens (Grenouille rousse), oiseaux, ou encore la Fougère des marais.

Created by sand extraction in the 1960s, part of this quarry is now open to the public on municipal land. An educational trail offers visitors the chance to discover some of the original natural environments to be found near the Castelle urban area: ponds, reedbeds, wet meadows, ponds, flooded woodland, populated by various species of orchid (Spotted Orchid), dragonflies, amphibians (Red Frog), birds and the Marsh Fern.

La cantera, que se creó extrayendo arena en los años sesenta, está ahora parcialmente abierta al público en terrenos municipales. La cava, nata dall'estrazione di sabbia negli anni Sessanta, è oggi in parte aperta al pubblico su terreno comunale. Un percorso didattico offre ai visitatori la possibilità di scoprire alcuni degli ambienti naturali originari vicini all'area urbana di Castelle: uno stagno, un canneto, un prato umido, stagni e boschi allagati, che ospitano diverse specie di orchidee (orchidea maculata), libellule, anfibi (rana rossa), uccelli e la felce palustre.
