L’étang de Capestang présente un réel intérêt écologique. Classé zone Natura 2000, cet étang est riche d’une ample végétation et de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux viennent y nicher (aigrettes, busards, sarcelles, spatules, hérons, flamants roses…).
Une ou deux fois par an, une visite de l'étang est organisée.

Der Teich von Capestang ist von großem ökologischem Interesse. Der Teich, der als Natura-2000-Gebiet eingestuft wurde, ist reich an einer breiten Vegetation und zahlreiche Vogelarten nisten hier (Silberreiher, Rohrweihen, Krickenten, Löffler, Reiher, Flamingos…).
Ein- oder zweimal im Jahr wird eine Besichtigung des Teichs organisiert.

De Capestang vijver is van echt ecologisch belang. Deze als Natura 2000-zone geclassificeerde vijver is rijk aan vegetatie en vele vogelsoorten komen er nestelen (zilverreigers, kiekendieven, wintertalingen, lepelaars, reigers, roze flamingo's, enz.).
Een of twee keer per jaar wordt een bezoek aan de vijver georganiseerd.
