Départ de MIRANDE : Ancienne bastide fortifiée du XIIIe. Vestiges de remparts. Place entourée de couverts. Tour des comtes d’Astarac visible depuis la halle. Belle église de type gothique méridional (MH) XIVe, avec clocher porche surprenant, vitrail du XVe et autres belles verrières du XIXe. Porche occidental sculpté. Mairie et Sous-Préfecture dans deux superbes bâtiments Second Empire. Musée des Beaux-arts et des arts décoratifs. A voir absolument : la chapelle de Mazerettes, construite au Xème siècle. Edifice roman intéressant à chevet semi-circulaire soutenu au moyen de deux lignes lombardes. Beau portail donnant accès à l’unique nef. Puis MIELAN : Bastide fondée en 1284. Chapelle dédiée à Saint Jean Baptiste construite en 1823 pour perpétuer le souvenir d’une église antérieure à la fondation de la bastide qui disparut après la Révolution. Promenades qui accueillirent Napoléon Ier et Joséphine en 1808. Maison du bailli (XVIIIème). POUYLEBON : Ancien village fortifié. Château du XVIII, privé. Eglise Sainte-Anne. Sentier de grande randonnée sur le chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle. BASSOUES : Bastide XIIIe, belle halle du XVIe bordée de maisons à colombages. Château des archevêques. Donjon XIVe, le plus bel exemple d’architecture militaire du Gers (MH). Eglise Notre-Dame XIVe remaniée possédant une belle pieta et une chaire en pierre (M.H) et Basilique Saint Fris XVe (portail sculpté Renaissance). MONTESQUIOU : Castelnau, village perché. Vestiges des anciennes fortifications dont une belle porte, maison anciennes. Eglise d’origine romane, remaniée. L’ISLE DE NOE : Château des Comtes de Noé, XVIIIe, avec parc. Exposition dans le château en Juillet et Août. Eglise XIIIe remaniée. Situé sur le chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle. Retour à MIRANDE, place d’Astarac.

Interesting Romanesque building with a semi-circular chevet supported by two Lombard lines. Beautiful portal giving access to the only nave. Then MIELAN : Bastide founded in 1284. Chapel dedicated to Saint John the Baptist built in 1823 to perpetuate the memory of a church prior to the foundation of the bastide which disappeared after the Revolution.
