Entre Vannes, Rennes et Nantes se situe un village riche d'une longue tradition potière et aujourd'hui labellisé Ville et Métiers d'Art. Depuis plus de 1000 ans les habitants de Saint-Jean-la-Poterie fabriquent des pots. Sa terre, appelée « lise », est réputée pour sa qualité conférant aux pots destinés à la cuisine grâce et légèreté. La tradition cédant toujours la place à la modernité, cette histoire ouvre un nouveau chapitre avec les 40 années de la faïencerie, dont les pièces richement décorées étaient vendues sous l'appellation Saint-Jean-de-Bretagne. Fermée en 1989, la commune mettra entre parenthèses toute production de poterie jusque dans les années 2000. Grâce à une belle équipe, le Patiau, centre d'art et d'histoire céramique, ouvre ses portes au public en 2014 afin de mettre en valeur ce patrimoine, de diffuser la création céramique contemporaine et de transmettre les savoir-faire associés au travail de la terre. Le Patiau, « petit bloc de terre » en gallo à partir duquel on réalise un pot, est un point de rencontres et de collaborations abritant plusieurs espaces. > Espace muséographique. L'espace d'exposition permanente retrace l'histoire potière du village. Une exposition de céramiques, un film, et deux bornes multimédia plongent le spectateur dans l'univers potian. > Atelier Potiane. L'atelier d'insertion Potiane, porté par Redon Agglomération et à vocation socio-professionnelle, reprend la fabrication et la décoration sur faïence à Saint-Jean et produit une gamme de vaisselle et d'objets décoratifs. > Expositions-vente temporaires . Actuellement quatre expositions-vente thématiques annuelles favorisent la diffusion de la création céramique contemporaine.

Between Vannes, Rennes and Nantes is located a village with a long tradition of pottery and today labeled City and Crafts. For more than 1000 years the inhabitants of Saint-Jean-la-Poterie have been making pots. Its clay, called "lise", is renowned for its quality, giving the pots intended for cooking grace and lightness. Tradition always giving way to modernity, this story opens a new chapter with the 40 years of the earthenware factory, whose richly decorated pieces were sold under the name Saint-Jean-de-Bretagne. Closed in 1989, the commune will put between brackets any production of pottery until the years 2000. Thanks to a great team, the Patiau, a ceramic art and history center, opened its doors to the public in 2014 in order to highlight this heritage, to disseminate contemporary ceramic creation and to transmit the know-how associated with working with clay. The Patiau, "small block of earth" in Gallo from which a pot is made, is a point of meetings and collaborations housing several spaces. > Museographic space. The permanent exhibition space retraces the history of pottery in the village. An exhibition of ceramics, a film, and two multimedia terminals immerse the spectator in the potian universe. > Potiane workshop. The Potiane workshop, supported by Redon Agglomeration and with a socio-professional vocation, resumes the manufacture and decoration on earthenware in Saint-Jean and produces a range of tableware and decorative objects. > Temporary exhibitions-sales. Currently four annual thematic exhibitions-sales promote the dissemination of contemporary ceramic creation.

Das Patiau Centre d'art et d'histoire céramique in Saint-Jean-la-Poterie besteht aus drei Räumen und drei Atmosphären: einem Workshop für Steingutdekoration, der von der Communauté de commune du Pays de Redon getragen wird, einem Museumsbereich über die Töpfergeschichte der Gemeinde und einer Boutique-Galerie mit wechselnden Ausstellungen zeitgenössischer Keramik. Il Centro d'arte e storia della ceramica Patiau di Saint-Jean-la-Poterie è composto da tre spazi con tre atmosfere diverse: un laboratorio per la decorazione della terracotta, gestito dalla comunità dei comuni del Pays de Redon, uno spazio museale sulla storia della ceramica della città e una galleria-negozio con mostre temporanee di ceramica contemporanea.
